The Gloucestershire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers is affiliated to the national Association of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers (www.wsd.org.uk).
Monthly meetings (January to November) are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month at Norton Village Hall. The programme of events consists of a variety of speakers and workshops related to our crafts. During the morning the hall is open from 10am for members and guests to join in a spinning/weaving session during which people can chat and exchange information and techniques. Guild meetings then follow this session and start at 2pm finishing at 4pm.
The aim of the guild is to promote the art of weaving, spinning and dyeing. To support this to happen an independent workshop is run by a guild member once a month on the Wednesday, following the monthly meeting, during which tuition and support is offered to those who attend no matter their level of ability. Many existing and new guild members attend these workshops.
The guild also provides demonstrations at a number of events throughout the calendar year.
